Welcome to the Front Space at Tatapouri Bay – where the rhythm of the ocean sets the tone for movement, connection, and creativity. Nestled alongside our oceanfront café and just steps from the sand, this beautiful open-air space is where we bring people together to move, breathe, connect, and celebrate.
From energising sunrise yoga in Gisborne to cold plunge sessions, local fitness classes, creative makers markets, and soulful live music by the sea – there’s always something happening on our beachfront.
We’re building a calendar that reflects the vibrant spirit of our coastal community, inviting locals and travellers alike to show up just as they are.

Located in the inner harbour marina, the Gisborne Wine Centre stands out as the city’s top wine cellar and tasting room. It offers guided tastings that showcase the finest wines from the Gisborne region. Alongside this, the onsite restaurant, Crawford Road Kitchen, provides delicious dinner. Wine tasting is from 3pm – 9pm. Bookings are not required. (Subject availability)

The Sauna Project – Now Onsite at Tatapouri Bay

Our friends at The Sauna Project are now parked at Tatapouri Bay, offering weekly guided sauna experiences that blend heat, cold, and ocean magic. Bring a friend or come solo – you’ll always leave feeling refreshed.
How It Works
The sauna is heated to 85°C
Spend around 15 minutes in the sauna, then cool off with a dip in the ocean
Repeat the cycle 3 times over the course of 1 hour
A trained guide is there to support your session
What to Bring
Two towels (one to sit on, one to dry off)
Water bottle to stay hydrated
Swimwear – arrive ready to sweat and splash

This thoughtfully designed event welcomes everyone and has been made as affordable as possible. We are excited to bring local teachers who are passionate about sharing their love for yoga. Classes will be accessible for all levels, featuring sunrise yoga sessions, meditation, breathing exercises, various styles of yoga, therapeutic flying, etc, and the relaxing sauna experience provided by The Sauna Project.
