LOCAL FLEA MARKET
6am - 9am for early risers.  An assortment of stalls from fresh local vegetables to second hand clothing, household and garden supplies.  Be sure to taste the local cuisine of fry bread and mussels with cream.

GISBORNE FARMERS' MARKET
From 9.30am - 1pm every Saturday during summer there is an enticing array of fresh local produce, with juicy seasonal fruits, vegetables, fresh eggs, flowers, meat, vegetable seedlings, garden plants, jams, chutneys and a range of organically produced products. A MUST FOR CAMPERS!

NATURAL REEF
Great fun for the kids to explore and see what marine life they can find.

RERE FALLS AND ROCKSLIDE
Just 50 k from Gisborne with a 60mt natural waterslide and great a picnic area at the water fall.

TE TAPUWAE O RONGOKAKO MARINE RESERVE

Only a ten minute drive from Tatapouri the reserve is great for snorkelling and kayaking with an extensive selection of marine habitat and wide range of marine species.

VINTAGE STEAM RAILWAY & MUSEUM OF TECHNOLOGY
Take a ride on Gisborne's unique vintage steam train Wa 165 a must for the train enthusiast. With the Museum on the edge of town for all those with an interest in machinery of the past.

Visit one of the many wineries and vineyards dotted around Gisborne, New Zealand’s “Chardonnay Capital”. Enjoy the cellar door selections, al fresco dining, tours and tastings available at various wineries throughout the region.

Stoney Horse Trek’s horseback adventure takes you over pine forest and native bush tracks, across farmland with high country views of the city, beaches and Young Nick's Head. Suits all levels of riding and runs seven days a week.

There are plenty of activities with world class surfing, kayaking and diving right on our door step at Tatapouri. Fish from the reef or explore the coast line north to Turihaua or around the point to Makorori.

Greys Bush, Okitu Scenic Reserve and Makorori Headland, Te Kuri Walkway with something suitable for all level of fitness.

DIVE TATAPOURI
Take the reef ecology tour and feed the stingrays or the snorkeling with stingrays excursions will get you up close and personal with these majestic creatures in their natural environment.
